About Us
Our Beginning
We began in 2012 in Louisville, Kentucky, with a few people interested in creating a support group for limb loss. Our aim was to provide essential caregiver support for limb loss and connect individuals with valuable community resources for amputees.
From there we began our LLC in 2013 and have been MOVING FORWARD ever since! We have close ties with the Amputee Coalition. We meet monthly in Louisville and Southern Indiana as well as have yearly events like our Picnic, Icecream Social and Chili Cookoff.
We welcome amputees and their families and caregivers.
We strive to improve the lives of amputees by providing a safe place to express themselves and heal where they are at.
Each person has their own journey at their own pace. PERIOD. We simply want to help you move to your own goals and aspirations.
We hope you come on in, pull up a seat, grab a snack and sit back and share as much or as little as you'd like.
Care Packages
Putting together care packages for our new amputees is something our group loves to do. We create these packages for adults and kids who are in the hospital and may be new to being an individual with an amputation.
We add some basic things like lotion, tissues, notepads, pens, etc along with information about our group and our monthly meeting info.
Networking & Socializing
Our meetings are not just to sit around and wish our amputations or limb difference hadn't happened. We're here to encourage each other on how to keep MOVING FORWARD
We also offer a chance to socialize and network with one another. Many of our amputees that are back out in the community can help you get involved. There are also opportunities to help and grow our group to the next level. Bring your ideas and your skills to our group!
